GMpncezWkAATuE8.jpgNorthCare Charity, the official charity of Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, hosted a corporate football tournament at Salford City FC’s Peninsula Stadium, in partnership with Foundation92.

The Foundation was founded by Manchester United’s iconic Class of 92, which includes football legends Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville, and supports communities through sports and education.

The event took place on Thursday 2 May 2024, and included teams from Nema LTD, Argyle NW LTD, Ultimate Products, Love Energy Solutions, Hudgell Solicitors, Countrywide Home Surveys, Maldron Hotels, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, Avamore Capital, The Whitewall Framers, BAM, Tilbury Douglas, The Binary Box, Kuits and 1st Central.

GMpncfrWQAALQmX.jpgThe tournament was five-a-side with four mini pitches created for the group phase, and games played concurrently. The final was refereed by Nicky Butt, and featured teams from Binary Box and Ultimate Products, with the latter winning the tournament. NorthCare Charity’s mascot Northie Bear got involved too, taking on (and losing to!) Billy the Lion, Salford FC’s mascot, in a highly-anticipated race!

“We’re delighted to have worked alongside NorthCare Charity on this event”, said Tom Hutton, Head of Foundation92.

“The day was a great success, and it has helped to raise vital funds to support those in need for both charities. We’re already looking forward to running this fantastic event again next year.”

Karen Casper, Corporate Fundraising Officer for NorthCare Charity, worked tirelessly with the Foundation92 team to plan and execute the event for the benefit of both charities. “Through conversations with Gary Neville, one of the Founders ofGMpncdHWAAAPlW4.jpg Foundation92, this wonderful event finally came to fruition!” she said.

“This has been an event in the making for nearly two years, but with the support of Foundation92’s Tom Hutton it really was one of the best things to come for those that wait!  The event was fun and fantastic with an amazing vibe and raised vital funds for both charities.

“The feedback from those who attended was extremely positive and as a result we are hoping this will be an annual Foundation92 and NorthCare collaboration! Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen, and roll on the next one in 2025.”

The event raised an incredible £8700, a total of £4350 for each charity. Funds for NorthCare Charity will be donated to The Sunshine Appeal, which aims to transform the Children’s Unit at Royal Oldham Hospital, improving facilities for patients and their families admitted from across Greater Manchester.
