Payroll giving

Payroll giving is an easy way for staff to donate money to us through their place of work.

It’s a simple and tax effective scheme that allows you to donate on a regular basis and show your continued support to our vital work across our hospitals and community services in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford.

Regular, reliable unrestricted income ensures we can plan ahead to support innovative equipment, education, research and wellbeing activities across the Northern Care Alliance family.

How does it work?

You can donate a set amount each payday directly from your gross salary. This means the deduction is made before calculating your taxable pay, which reduces the amount on which you pay tax. In turn, your donation will cost you up to 40 percent less.

So, if you are a basic rate tax payer and you pledge £10, you only pay £7.80. The taxman will add £2.20 at no extra cost to you. And, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, then it will cost you even less to donate £10 as tax is deducted at the higher rate.
