Boundary Park hosted NorthCare, the official charity of Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, at the Oldham Athletic game against Bromley on Saturday 29 April.

The club and the charity have been working in partnership since December 2022, supporting projects at Royal Oldham Hospital and in the community to benefit patients, their families and staff. Lactics players wore NorthCare Charity t-shirts to warm up before the game, and charity volunteers met fans in the stands, raising funds for the Children’s Unit at the hospital.

Spirits were high as the team secured a mid-table draw and remain in the National League for next season. Players formed a guard of honour at the end of the game to send off defender Peter Clarke as he ended his long-term loan from Walsall.

Martin Vose, Head of Community at Oldham Athletic Community Trust said ' It was great to invite NorthCare to Boundary Park for the final day of the season.”

“We hope the day created some great exposure for the organisation as well as some funds kindly donated by our great supporters at the club. They are an amazing charity who we look forward to continuing our partnership with going forward!'

“It’s an absolute pleasure to work with the club and we’re so appreciative of their support”, said Karen Casper, Fundraising Officer for NorthCare Charity.

“Working with Oldham Athletic has allowed us to connect with the community, raise funds and share information on the projects we fund to benefit the hospital and services in the community. We had a great time at the game and we are looking forward to working together next season.”

One of the upcoming projects supported by the club is the creation of a new sensory room on the Paediatric Elective Surgery Unit. The team are aiming to transform one of the existing recovery rooms on the Unit into a sensory room, to create a more calm and pleasant experience for their patients with additional needs such as learning disabilities, autism and ADHD.  Senior Support Worker Tricia Gilbert has completed her challenge to walk 400,000 steps in April to raise funds for the sensory room, which you can read more about here.
