Can I get NorthCare Charity branded materials like collection tins, t-shirts and posters?

We do have materials available such as bunting, posters, and collection bucket stickers. You can complete our Fundraising Interest Form and a member of our team will send these over to you.

You can also order branded t-shirts and running vests from northcarecharity@nca.nhs.uk. Please be mindful that as a charity, we incur costs to produce these materials, so we may ask you for more information about your fundraising before we send you any products or you could consider making a donation to contribute towards these costs.

Can I organise my own fundraising event?

Absolutely! We’d love to hear of any new ideas that you may have, or if you’re looking for some ideas, head to How you can support us. Make sure you register your fundraising online with us so we can provide you with the best possible support, regardless of how weird and wonderful your idea is!

I have a place in an event, can I choose to fundraise for NorthCare Charity?

Yes, and we’re so happy you’re choosing to support NorthCare Charity. Register your event with us and we can make sure we send your t-shirt or running top so you stand out from the crowd!

How can I advertise/ promote my event?

You’ve done the hard part so now shout loud and proud about your event! Check out our social media and promotion top tips to kickstart your fundraising.

Can NorthCare Charity promote my fundraising event?

We would be happy to help promote your fundraising event through our social media channels and website. The sooner you can let us know about your event, the better. Please contact the team via northcarecharity@nca.nhs.uk to see how we can help.

Can I use the NorthCare Charity logo for my fundraising?

Please ask permission from one of the team before using our logo on any items.

We’ve worked hard to establish our logo and brand and need to make sure it is used correctly. This not only helps us prevent fraudulent use of our logo, but also helps make your event look more professional and trustworthy. Nobody likes to see a stretched or blurred logo on a poster!

How do I explain what NorthCare Charity does?

People are always more likely to donate to a cause that they feel passionate about so it’s always good to be prepared with information about what we do and what you’re fundraising for. Head to our What We Do page on our website to find out more information.

Can someone from NorthCare Charity speak at my event?

We will always try to support your event. Register your fundraising event with us as soon as possible to give our team as much notice as possible.

On the occasions that we cannot attend, we will look to find an alternative option for you (such as sending a statement to read aloud or finding a volunteer who is available to attend in our place).

Is there anything that I can use to prove to businesses that I’m fundraising for NorthCare Charity when asking for donations?

Yes, once you’ve been in touch with our charity team about your fundraising, they can provide you with a Letter of Authorisation.

How do I pay my money and donations in?

We accept donations in cash, cheque or online – find more information on our Pay in Your Donation page.

How do I claim Gift Aid on the money I raise?

As a registered charity, NorthCare Charity is allowed to claim back an extra 25p on every £1 donated to us in gift aid. For us to be able to claim gift aid, you need to check the person donating is a UK tax-payer, record their home address, postcode, donation amount, and make sure they tick the Gift Aid box on your sponsor form or webpage.

When using online fundraising pages such as JustGiving, prompts for Gift Aid will be automated if you apply this option. For offline donations, you can download a Gift Aid form here.

Can I donate the money I raise to a particular hospital or department?

Yes, please notify the Fundraising Team if you have a particular hospital or department that you would like to support. Please remember, that any ‘unrestricted’ donations (without any preference on hospital or department) will be directed to wherever there is the greatest need and allow us to respond to urgent requirements much quicker.

How do I set up my online fundraising page?

You can create your online fundraising page through our JustGiving charity page. Click ‘Fundraise for us’ and follow the steps according to what type of fundraising activity you’ll be doing. For more guidance, read JustGiving’s guidance or get in touch with our team.

What happens if I don’t reach my minimum target for an event?

Minimum sponsorship amounts are put in place to ensure we don’t lose money as a charity from the event entry costs.

There is no legally binding contract if the minimum pledge is not met and you would not be required to make up the difference, however we cannot stress enough the importance of hitting your target!
